Account & Subscription

Select ‘Log in’ (icon found in the right-hand corner on the top navigation bar) 

Here you can log in or create an account.  

You will be prompted to fill in various details to set up your account.  

 

Account registration can also be done via the app:

Premium Account: To register for a premium account, choose a monthly or yearly subscription via the introduction screens when you open the app and follow the steps to setup your account. Alternatively, navigate to the main menu and tap ‘Go Premium’ under ‘My Profile’.

Free Account: To register for a free account from the app, tap the X in the top right to close the introduction screen. Use the menu to navigate to ‘Log In’ under ‘My Profile’ and select ‘Go Free’.

 

If you have previously set up an OS account (via our shop or other apps) you can use this existing email address and password to log in (Great Britain only). 

If you get the message 'Error: user with email already exists' you have previously created an account with that email address. Use your existing password to login in, or use the 'Forgot Your Password' system to update your password.  

  • Ensure you are logged in 
  • Select ‘My Account’ (icon found in the right-hand corner on the top navigation bar) 
  • Select ‘My Account’ 
  • Select ‘Change email’ (left-hand side menu panel) 
  • Follow the instructions and save to confirm your changes.  

At the moment we do not allow users to pause their subscription.  

Most subscriptions (including all those purchased via the App or Play Stores) will automatically renew monthly or yearly. Unless changed, your subscription will be renewed on the same day of the following month/year. 

If you have purchased one-time access from the OS Shop (or received a gift to OS Maps) then this will not renew automatically. You will receive an email before this expires explaining how to continue your premium access to OS Maps. 

If you have purchased your subscription via the App or Play Store, please refer to their individual billing information.   

We are working on a solution to change your billing information via the OS Maps Shop. Watch this space! 

The OS Shop accepts Visa, Master Card, Amex and Visa debit options. 

The App Store will accept Apple Pay and the Google Play Store will take Google Pay. 

OS maps does not support some special characters that you may have used in your password.  

Try changing your password by heading to the ‘Log in’ option on the top right of the white navigation bar. Once the page has loaded, select ‘Forgot Your Password?’ to reset your password.  

Make sure your new password does not use the %, @, $ or £ signs.

You can purchase a subscription as a gift in the OS Map Shop (Great Britain only).  

If you have purchased a recurring Premium subscription through the web you can change your subscription or can cancel your next renewal at any time on the OS Maps Shop in your account (GB only).   

If you have subscribed through iTunes or Google Play in the app, you can manage, change or cancel your subscription from your mobile device or from the app store on web.  

From an Apple mobile device:  

  • Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions

  • Select Subscriptions, and then the subscription for OS Maps  

  • You can choose a different subscription length, or 'Cancel Subscription' to cancel. As subscriptions are taken in advance, your subscription will continue until end of the current period.  

For Apple subscription from a Mac:  

  • Open the App store App  

  • Select your Apple ID at the bottom of the sidebar  

  • Select 'View Information' from the top of the page  

  • On the Account Information page, scroll to Manage. To the right of Subscriptions, click 'Manage'  

  • To the right of the OS Maps subscription, select 'Edit'  

  • You can choose a different subscription length, or click 'Cancel Subscription' to cancel. As subscriptions are taken in advance, your subscription will continue until end of the current period.  

For Apple subscription from web:  

  • Open the Store in your web browser  

  • From the menu at the top of the window, choose Account > View My Account  

  • Scroll to the Settings section  

  • To the right of Subscriptions, Click Manage  

  • To the right of the OS Maps subscription, click Edit. You can choose a different subscription length or select 'Cancel Subscription'. Your subscription will continue until end of the current period.  

For a Google Play subscription from your mobile  

  • Open Google Play Store app and select the menu icon in the top left corner  

  • From the top menu, select 'Subscriptions'  

  • Select the OS Maps subscription  

  • To cancel your subscription, select ‘Cancel Subscription’ and follow the steps to stop your auto-renewal subscription. Your subscription will continue until end of the current period.  

  • Note, it is not currently possible to change a subscription via the Google Play Store on mobile. If you wish to change your subscription type, you will need to cancel your current subscription and then re-subscribe via the Google Play Store or via the OS Shop.

For a Google Play subscription from your web browser  

  • Open Google Play subscriptions on the web and log into your Google Play account if prompted.

  • From the left menu, select 'My Subscriptions'  

  • Select the OS Maps subscription  

  • Select 'Manage' next to your OS Maps subscription

  • On the information screen for your OS Maps subscription, select 'Cancel Subscription’ to stop your auto-renewal subscription. Your subscription will continue until end of the current period. 

  • Note, it is not currently possible to change a subscription via the Google Play Store through a web browser. If you wish to change your subscription type, you will need to cancel your current subscription and then re-subscribe via the Google Play Store or via the OS Shop.

The different prices reflect the different costs to provide the subscription across the various platforms/stores. However, there is only one premium subscription - so what you get for the subscription is exactly the same wherever you purchase. 

Purchasing a subscription on the website is currently limited to users in Great Britain only. 

Subscription options are highlighted at sign in and when a specific feature is limited to premium subscribers.  

Select your chosen subscription package and complete the checkout process.  

Users in both Australia and Great Britain can subscribe to Premium through the app. The OS Maps app can be downloaded from The App or Play Store. 

You have probably already used your email address to make a purchase in the shop or create an account in the past. Either create a new account by using a different email address (if you have one) or use the 'I've lost my password' link to recover your login details. If you still get problems logging in, please let us know.

Subscribing gives you unlimited access to premium features and the most detailed maps. Premium features include:

  • Premium Topo mapping
  • Tabletop 3D Augmented Reality (GB Only on iOS)
  • 3D route fly-throughs (GB Only)
  • Aerial 3D
  • Download unlimited maps to use offline 
  • Import and export routes
  • Unlimited printing up to A3 size

To subscribe, open the main menu and tap ‘Go Premium’ under ‘My Profile’ and follow the steps to subscribe. If you’re in Great Britain, you can see the subscription options here.

This can be done by logging into OS Maps and navigating to the main map page. Then open the menu in the top left corner and click on 'My Account'. You'll then have the option to change your email address.

If you're a GB user, you can change your email by logging into the main shop website and editing your account details in your profile area.
